Stunt : Exploding airplane
From episode 12 : 'Notlandung'

To let a real airplane explode is very expensive matter. That's way the stuntteam decided to use a model-airplane. For this explosion the cameras are placed in such a way that it looks like if a real airplane explodes in the recordings. The people of the special effects take care of that the explosion looks realistic. In the pictures below you can see clearly that it is a model-airplane, which you see exploding in the episode.



Stunt : Exploding bus
From episode 13 : 'Das Attentat'

For this explosive stunt the stuntteam uses the launchingsystem, which is told about in part 1 of "The Making Of". So a hollow cylinder is placed into the ground. On the bottom some explosives are placed and on top of that a steel cylinder is placed. By detonating the explosives the steel cylinder will turn the bus during the explosion on his side. With the help of burning benzine the launchingsystem is hidden. In the pictures below you can see the launchingsystem. In the left picture you see how the hollow steel cylinder is placed into the grond. In the right picture you see how the steel cylinder with a beam weld on top of it is placed in the steel cylinder. A beam is weld on top of the cylinder to push the bus via a greater area into the air, so that the bus turns on his side better.



Stunt : Opel Manta is launched into the air via the verge
From episode 14 : 'Die verlorene Tochter'

In this stunt it seems as if the Manta is launched into the air via the verge and flies into the forest. To let the Manta be launched via the verge is a difficult task. That's why a wooden ramp is built. The cameras are placed so that the viewers can't see this ramp. Also he is hidden a little bit by some plants. In the right picture you see how the Manta is being launched via the ramp. Because a landing in the forest is very dangerous for a stuntman, the car is launched without a driver. The car is being pushed and steered onto the ramp by a rail-system (see part 1). What you didn't see in the episode for understandeble reasons is that during the first attempt to launch the Manta via the ramp the car got out of the rail while he was pushed. The car stopped just in front of the ramp. Fortunately the stuntteam had a second identic Manta standing ready, so that some time later a second attempt was done. Now a bend in the rail was made less sharp, so that the Manta stayed in the rail and the stunt was performed in the right way.
