The story so far

The creator of "Der Clown" is Hermann Joha, who also created "Cobra 11". "Der Clown" is about Max Zander (Sven Martinek). Max has a good youth until the day on which he comes home and he discovers that his parents are murdered. In the periode after his terrible discovery Max thinks that he is guilty of the death of his parents. He thinks that he could have prevented the murdering of his parents. Then Max gets to know Leo and he they become good friends. When both are finished with school they go into the army and after that they join the LKA (German police-unit). After Leo became engaged the lives of both friends seperate: Leo stays in Germany and Max goes to the USA to join the WIPA. The WIPA, "World Intelligence Police Agency", is a troop which fights the gravest international crimes.

After five years in the WIPA Max returns to Germany. The boss of the LKA in Düsseldorf, Ludowski (Volkmar Kleinert), needs the help of Max in the fight against the Russian mobs. Also Leo works on this case and that makes Max very happy. But his happiness lasts not very long: a few hours after Max and Leo met eachother, Leo is murdered by the Russians in front of the eyes of Max. Grieving for the death of Leo he meets Claudia (Diana Frank), who also witnessed the murder on Leo. At Claudia's home Max finds several clownsmasks and that gives him an idea. He wants to take revenge on the Russians by destroying their business in Germany. He uses the clownsmask to not be recognized by the Russians or the police. To perform the revenge-actions he gets help from his old friend Tobias 'Dobbs' Steiger (Thomas Anzenhofer). During an action to capture the leaders of the Russians there is a big accident. Everyone thinks that besides the leaders also Max has died. But Ludowski, Claudia and Dobbs know better: Max is still alive and wants to fight the injustice as the Clown. Hereby he gets the help from his three friends.



In the first case for the Clown a drugsdealer wants to get rid of Ludowski. Nobody believes Ludowksi, even the people at the police. But Max believes him and takes care for that the drugsdealer is put into jail. From this moment the police, lead by commissioner Führmann, starts a hunt on the Clown, because he performs illegal actions. Ludowski decides to stop working for the police and becomes a lawyer. Together with Ludowki, Claudia, who has a job as a journalist, and Dobbs, the owner of a serious helicopter-company, Max continues his fight against the injustice.

In a certain case Max has to get rid of the African killer Jerome. First Max succeeds, but Jerome wants revenge and kills Ludowski. Then Max gets rid of Jerome forever. As a last gift from Ludowski Max has got a new identity. Max Zander is now Max Hecker. Max wants to start a new live with his new identity. But just when he has decided that he approached by a mysterious organization, which has followed the actions of the Clown and his friends for the last years. This organization, the so-called "Shadows", wants that Max fights the injustice for them. Max doesn't want to do this, but then the Shadows threaten to give their incriminating material to the police. This would mean that Max, Claudia and Dobbs will be put into jail. So Max and his friends has to agree to the proposal of the Shadows. Again the Clown continues his fight against the injustice.
